Development preview

mnemos

Keep useful project context across coding sessions.

Local memory for coding agents with separate project, workspace, and global scopes. Inspect what was recalled, update stale facts, and keep durable context in a local SQLite database.

What you can do with it

Who it's for: Solo developers who want inspectable continuity between coding sessions.

An explicit project fact recalled through CLI and MCP after the local service restarts.

Your first useful result

Install in your development environment

python -m pip install "./mnemos-preview[mcp]"
  1. 01

    Check out the development source

Follow the example page to clone the tested branch and install it in a fresh environment. This candidate is not on PyPI because the release benchmark fails.

  2. 02

    Run the isolated example

Download restart_recall.py from the example page. It creates disposable projects and a local database, stores a fact, restarts the service, and checks CLI and MCP recall.

    python restart_recall.py --output restart-recall.json
  3. 03

    Inspect the result

The receipt checks the same fact ID after restart and confirms that another project sees no fact. Read the evaluation limits before enabling automatic enrichment.

Know the limits

  • The restart example verifies explicit persistence and isolation. It does not establish retrieval quality or native coding-host acceptance.
  • Automatic enrichment remains experimental. The latest judged rerun scored 22.73% on no-answer accuracy; the ablations have not established a biomimetic quality advantage.
  • Other configurations may send content to a model provider. Native Hermes integration, long-running use, and performance acceptance remain open.
